i'll take it
luckiliy, it wasn’t nearly as hot out as i thought it would be.but seeing that it was already late, i wasn’t going to head out and run the lake. so i settled for 2 moderate, hilly miles in the neighborhood, and the core. 15 pushups + 1 minute each of 3 ab exercises. repeat 3 times. i can’t remember the last time i did a full set of core. so i’ll exchange the miles for some...

in regards to the earbud post
what’s worse is when i occasionally take one out to check my breathing, and then when i put it back in it won’t stay because i’m sweaty. and that’s more annoying than it just falling out because for the rest of the run i have to live with the fact i brought it upon myself, thinking i’d be able to take the earbud out and put it back in without an issue.

reason why i miss xc/track #243
it’s really awkward exercising at home. i’ll run, come home, and then skip core because my parents are like “what are you doing that for”? as if i’m doing it because i’m unhappy with how i feel or look or something. which is really strange because both my parents are former military and still exercise so it’s not like the concept of being fit is foreign to...

motivation
i really need to find a way to motivate myself. it’s always been easy for me to get up and run if there’s someone i’m meeting, but when it’s just me… i struggle. it wouldn’t be such an issue if it wasn’t so hot. i could have my cake and eat it too! but running at 9 or 10 (and even 8 sometimes) is just… too much. and i’m only here for another...

the olympics creates a major problem for athletes
part of me is like “whoa, yes! time to get out there and run like i’ve never run before. maybe i’ll take up swimming too! diving looks fun and these gymnasts are magnificent, time to hit the gym!” and then the other part of me is like “this is so cool, i can’t stop watching. just one more event and then i’ll go do something else” and then i sit on...

Mom: You have no social life until you unpack your suitcase from Tahoe. I know you hid it under your bed.
Me: I was just about to go for a run though.
Mom: I suppose it would be more effective to punish you by hiding your running shoes until you clean up your shit.

as amazing as the olympics are, i’ve decided that i wouldn’t be able to handle it. like ariana said, the experience would be amazing. but then it would come time to compete and i’d pass out at the start line. so maybe kayaking is my ticket to the next games.

trishhyy: when a girl changes her clothes in front of you, she’s either really interested or you’re level 99 friend-zoned orrrrr you’re on the track/xc team, where the rules don’t make sense to the rest of society hahahaha

caleb: you like sprinting, right?
caleb: you know, running?
me: *figuring he's too young to get any distance-sprinter jokes* yeah, i do! you're right!
caleb: okay, that's cool. me too!
caleb: we should run together sometime!
me: okay, if you'd like to!
caleb: that's good. see you later. *continues riding his bike*
