food & heath update
i wouldn’t consider myself a so called “health freak”. i don’t mean that term in a bad way at all, but i just don’t overly concern myself with every kind of food or ingredient that i put in my body. however, you know how they day it takes 21 days to develop a habit? over the last few months, my “habit” has been a lack of large amounts of junk food &...

outdoor day two!
i won’t be doing these every day, just the notable ones, haha. it was track workout day!
easing in to track stuff before coach gives out the so called “vomit inducing” workouts. so today was:
warmup (1.2 miles) 4x100 meter strides
800 m at easy tempo pace (3:23) 60 second recovery 2x200 meter strong (38-41), 200 meter recov jog between each repeat for 2 sets. 10 minute...

outdoor season day one
feeling good! *cue the music* hahaha
not really my first day back since i didn’t really have an offseason, but ran 5.5 miles today- the longest in a month or so. i had that 2 weeks of biking, then nothing over 4.5 the last couple weeks, so it was longer but nice. the weather is gorgeous, bordering on t-shirt/sports bra weather. IN FEBRUARY. i love it! as long as it doesn’t mean later...
runner: *posts a status about running (insert # of miles here)*
normal person: oh my gosh you're a god.
a fellow runner: how fast did you go? did you run outside? what was your pace? what were your splits? were there hills? did you run on the track?
in other news...
i just changed my little icon thing to a picture of the bird that wouldn’t get off the track during regionals… it was hilarious. but then finally this kid caught it with his jacket and took it outside. the whole field house cheered.
a note to those about to take on a new season.
embrace it.
whether you’re a seasoned runner, or just starting out, take these next couple months and enjoy them. they won’t necessarily be easy, but when it’s over, it will have been worth it. your teammates are there to push you and encourage you, and you should take the opportunity to do the same for them. the isn’t room for “i can’t” or...

things that make our team cool #256
there is a giant tire in our weight room. the baseball team takes sledgehammers to it to workout. i fit inside it perfectly. thursday i got rolled around the space outside the weight room in it. then i lifted weights. it was a good time.
cinnamon challenge
one of my teammates suggested we do the cinnamon challenge at practice one day. so i think i’ll bring a video camera and do a compilation of all the brave souls who wish to partake.
should be fun (: monday is the first official day of the spring season! not like my indoor season rolled right into outdoor. i don’t think i missed a single day in between. hopefully that pays off!
