arm muscle
so today i was at forever 21 trying on some clothes and i looked in the mirror and noticed that my right arm muscle is significantly larger than my right. and when i say larger, people… please realize this is all relative because i am a distance runner and arm muscle is to distance running as ballet shoes are to football. but the question really is, why was i flexing while trying on...

week of september 19 - 25
monday: sick day tuesday: went to practice, got warmups + 1 mile in, called it quits wednesday: league meet day, ran an easy 30 minutes on my own thursday: 35 minutes (morning practice) friday: 6 miles saturday: 5K scrimmage sunday: day off so this has been an off week for running. last sunday i came down with a stomach bug and thew up somewhere around 10 times in a less than 24 hour period. it...

braddock relays
fun race, wasn’t nervous for it, but it went meh. it was only a 2.5K, so a little over a mile and a half, and it was at 9 pm, so in the dark. except, since it was in relay format, there were only 20 girls running at a time, which lead to huge gaps so it was a major mental challenge. i didn’t run that great, got the baton in first, went out fast to try and keep the lead, came back...

monday: 40 minutes easy- one 4.6 mile lake loop. tuesday: back to school! last night, after our meet, i was in that half-asleep state when i dreamed about an xc race, and then i tripped in a pothole and as i was about to hit the ground, i woke up.

so, this evening was the make up for the meet postponed last saturday due to flooding. and i pr’d by over a minute and a half. 22:09 out, 20:28 in! i can so go under 20 this season. our girl’s team did awesome, and we placed 9th out of 28 teams that could place, although 2 only had a couple runners. so this was a great kickoff to the (almost) 5k racing season (: but saturday night...

i was seconds away from vomiting up some ice cream today due to mile repeats. that’s devotion right there. i don’t think lax has ever made him hurt so much. whaddya mean “running isn’t a sport”?!?!?!

tuesday: 4 x 800 meter intervals on last 800 meters of the xc course + warmups and cooldowns of about 15 minutes each
wednesday: 7 miles, pre-meet “training through meets” speech
thursday: FIRST MEET! 2 mile race, 2 long hills as a workout afterwards
friday: 6 miles
saturday: lake + 5k course = 7.7 miles
sunday: day off
total weekly mileage: approx. 35 miles
