SO EXCITED. i went to rach’s house today and we had a water fight, then got online to try and find some good tshirt quotes for our girl’s team shirts. we found a few we liked, but...

Runners reblog!
weight-obsessed: I want to follow all the runners out there! I don’t care if you’ve been running all your life, or just started today. I don’t care if you’re a sprinter, or a marathon runner. I don’t care if you’re underweight, or overweight. I just want to follow other runners so reblog!:)

shoes
i wear asics. cross country, track, spikes.. when i wear one pair out i get another pair of asics. i love how nikes look… although they seem like more of a cross training shoes. they’re so awesome looking. my uncle got an awesome pair of grey and neon ones for like, $30 at bobs. we don’t have bob’s where i live, but i really want a pretty pair of nikes. without having to...

when it hurts, make it hurt more
thank goodness i found running. or it found me. whoever made the introduction, i am forever indebted to you. when i’m in a terrible mood, i can run. if someone hurt me, i just make it hurt more. but not in my head, or in my heart. in my calves. my arms. my thighs. my abs. pain is weakness leaving the body, and i want to be strong. the trails don’t care what you look like, what you...

runner habits...
i’m so used to using my elastic waistband on spandex/ running shorts at meets, practices, around the house, etc for carrying my phone that i have to remind myself that’s what pockets are for on regular shorts. hahaha, runner girl problems. ps: why do guy’s athletic shorts (not short shorts, just regular ones) have pockets and girl’s don’t?

what do you really want?
I could stay the way that I am.  I am healthy and fit and generally accepting of the way I look.  I won’t die if I stop trying so hard and if I remain in my size 3/4 jeans.  But there is a quote in one of my favorite books: I had blonde hair that got much lighter in the summer time, slightly green if I swam too much, which didn’t bother me because I was a total track rat, the kind of girl to...

manmukh: I wouldn’t call myself an “active person” but ugh I love the feeling I get after working out for like half an hour. I feel like I can breathe better and it’s like I sweated out all of the shitty feelings that I have and ugh I just wish I cared more

find of the day
i was at dick’s sporting goods, and on clearance they had a women’s adidas polyester training jacket on sale for $20, originally $45. bargains on nice athletic clothes = awesome. too bad it’s 85 degrees with 80% humidity.

do you smell bacon, i smell bacon?
plus about having your home xc course go through a campground: it’s shady minus about having your home xc course go through a campground: if you run it in the summer, there will be people camping. so this morning, as we were running along the trail that leads to the campground, i turned to rach: “do you smell bacon? i smell bacon” “and pancakes”...

yale girl
we’ve been holding unofficial conditioning practices for xc since school let out, although when having 5 people come out is a good day, it’s less of a practice and more of a ‘let’s not run by ourselves’ type thing. which is fine, because i’ve run everyday this week, and if i stay on track, i’ll be in tip top shape before official practice begins in...
