in preparation for indoor i need to:
order shoes. i always wear the same series of asics so maybe i’ll find a sale or coupon online and get them that way since i know what shoes and size i need.
dig out all my spandex tights, longer socks, and other necessary cold gear.
get mentally prepared. it snowed before halloween this year. this is going to be brutal. most hard core sport? i think yes.

peace out, xc
i hadn’t updated the last two weeks of my workout log due to sheer busyness. i had a german exchange student visiting for 2 weeks, homework to get done, and prep for district championships to do, leaving minimal (aka no) blog time. but anyways, we missed moving on to regionals by 6 points, which was a shame. it was a great season though. not my best race to end my high school xc career, but...

i’m starting to write about going on runs. because nothing is better than losing yourself in a run. i hope they don’t mind that i’m not writing about a library, a hiking trail, a museum, an actual, physical place. it’s the hardest feeling to articulate, but i’m going to try.

so today in physics
i was talking to one of the guys at our table about marching band competitions, and another girl asked, “what do you do after you compete?” drew: we go sit in the bleachers… me: …and EAT? drew: no. we watch. lesson of the day: marching band is not track.
local newspaper article
mom: macey's in the paper for cross country!
me: oh, that's cool. she finished second
mom: yeah i saw
*i open article*
me: hey, i'm in here too!
mom: oh really?

doesn't matter though. my time was a minute slower than last meet and it makes it look like our girl's team sucks. spectacular
i've had a random influx of new followers (:
so hello to you all! i hope you’re enjoying the transition into fall weather, the best time for distance running! feel free to ask any questions, i (usually) have answers hahaha.
on my way out for a run
me: going on a run
mom: ok, want a cream puff?
me: uhhhhh
mom: oh, right, that's probably a bad idea

practice today
so i figured it would be as cold as yesterday. the sun came out for practice, and i was stuck in my long sleeves and spandex. not ideal sunny tempo gear, haha. still trying to figure out what the deal with my quads is. i hate this feeling.
running has the best puns
i’d list them off, but i’ve gotta run

meet this weekend
i said i’d post about it, so hey, why not? bullet format: not as good things:
my time. it’s not a bad time, but significantly slower than usual.
the fact i had SATs beforehand
taking a typically fast course, and raining on it, producing ankle deep mud. it’s no so bad except it causes siphon onto patches of grass. it’s like the beltway but in xc format
good things:
who...
